My May Faves!

One of my recent make up addictions has been Maybelline’s new lip product, Baby Lips.

Once I bought my first one I could not be stopped.

To play it safe I first purchased the clear version called Quenched. I found this to be such a moisturizing lip balm that I could not stop putting it on and forcing people to try it.

After experiencing this I really wanted to try the other colored versions. So I gradually acquired the shimmery peach color, Peach Kiss, the bright pink, Pink Punch, and the red color, Cherry Me. Not only do all of these smell amazing but they provide moisture to your lips while adding a tint of color.

I highly recommend these if you are looking for a nice alternative to your regular chapstick.

In NYC the prices run close to $5 each at Duane Reade but when I went back home I saw that they were around the $3 range at walmart.

To my surprise I found this really great movie on Netflix but apparently they are taking it off in like 2 days. So if you have netflix, hurry up and watch it.
It stars Josh Radnor and Kate Mara which instantly brought two of my favorite tv shows to my head, How I Met Your Mother and American Horror Story.
I was nervous to see a really good tv actor in a semi-serious movie but it has the quirky attribute to it which I am in love with. It was nice to see a movie from a guys prospective too which makes it even better because Josh Radnor actually directed it, which amazes me.
The relationship between Josh’s character, Sam and the lost boy, Rasheen, seemed familiar in a Big Daddy sense. It had the whole older man takes care of younger boy feel which is legally impossible and in no way will end on the terms the main character hopes. In addition to this story, like many rom-coms, there are side stories following Sam’s cousin and her relationship to her LA obsessed boyfriend and Sam’s best friend Annie who suffers from alopecia, struggles with her self-image causing her to have commitment issues.
Overall this is story about defining what it means to love and be loved.
A plus to this movie, for me, is that its set in NYC. Since I currently reside in NYC I feel a certain connection to this film. I find that it makes me inspired to see what can actually be done in the city with more of an indie film sense. It wont be long till I’m forced to make my own films and movies like this definitely prepare me for that.
